Wall Murals

Wall graphics are an ideal solution to liven up a room and create a lasting first impression. In addition, businesses often use wallpaper as a temporary or permanent advertising solution.

Signbiz can print and apply large scale designs and fit them around doors, windows, extrusions and curved walls. The products we use lend themselves to indoor and outdoor applications and, as a result, are also used successfully to wrap external hoardings or other outdoor advertising spaces.

BENEFITS AND PLACEMENT

The inks we use for our wall murals are fully waterproof, and the vinyl options are water-resistant, making the wall signage durable and fully washable. For this reason, it can be installed in busy high traffic pedestrian areas with absolute confidence.

By using high-quality vinyl film and printing at higher resolutions, we can produce wall murals that will look perfect for many years. Alternatively, for temporary promotions (up to 6 months), more economical choices can be made, bringing the cost down to a more affordable level.

Design Considerations

Wall-mural design is made up of photographic images, illustrative elements, text and logos or a combination of all four. And many of the same design considerations that you will read about for digital print signage will come into play for wall signage.

Additionally, as the images used for walls are large and will possibly be viewed at reasonably close range, care is required to set files correctly. So if you intend to work on your own design, please make sure that you read and understand our print specifications first.

Choosing an Image

When choosing an image for your wall mural, it is best to decide what type of atmosphere you are trying to create and go from there. Furthermore, if using bold, bright and busy patterns, make sure that there is enough black space in the area to counteract the busyness.

Our design staff have access to a massive amount of high resolution photographic and illustrative stock and can help you make the correct choice.

We’re versed in producing stunning large-format mural designs that are guaranteed to impress you and your customers. We can also work with graphic files created by third parties and run all the latest graphic software to ensure that production runs smoothly.

Adding 3D Elements

3D elements can easily add impact to a printed business wall mural. We can produce text and logos on our CNC cutting equipment and spray them to suit, installing them over the top of the wall graphic. This combination of 2D and 3D results in an eye-catching display.

Fabrication

Wall Murals are fabricated using the same methods as explained in our Digital Print Signage article. Often making most of the full size of the media available.

The printed panels are 1350mm wide and run the full height of the mural, so there are very few joins. Any necessary joins are almost invisible. We have completed business murals that are longer than 80 meters and over 3 meters high, but there is no limit to the overall size.

Installation Surface

A mural will adhere to almost all interior wall surfaces without lifting or curling, but it is vital to realise that fresh acrylic paint will need to cure entirely before a graphic is applied.

Whilst acrylic paint dries in an hour or two; it takes a few weeks to fully cure. And until it reaches its cured state, it retains a slightly greasy surface which will could cause the graphic to fail. This curing period varies depending on paint type and ambient temperatures.

If you intend to install a wall graphic on a new or refurbished wall, please contact us to discuss painting types and methods and suitable time frames.

Maintainance and Removal

Wall murals are low maintenance and should last as long as 5 years in the correct environment. They may need to be replaced more frequently in areas exposed to extreme heat or cold, moisture, smoke, oils, and direct sunlight.

We only use high-quality vinyl products that can easily be removed and replaced.

Window Clings

Window clings, also known as static clings, are adhesive-free stickers that cling to the surface of the glass using suction or static. The stickers can be removed and placed elsewhere and leave no residue on the glass beneath. We use these non-adhesive stickers where easy removal is necessary (pricing on mirrors or eyeglasses, for example). They are also perfect for any short-term, temporary, or re-occurring promotions.

Transparent and Opaque Vinyl

Transparent and opaque vinyl has self-adhesive properties and for this reason, we use it for more permanent signage than clings. Signbiz print graphics onto (Digital Print) or cut shapes from (Cut Vinyl Graphics) this transparent or solid-coloured media.

There are low and high tac varieties available, depending on the position and life expectancy required of the sticker. If needed, a professional can easily remove but not re-use these decals.

Perforated Vinyl

In areas where one-way vision is required, we use perforated vinyl. The vinyl is perforated with millions of tiny little holes and can be removed with heat up to a year from installation without leaving a residue. With this media, a graphic is visible from the exterior but seems see-through from the inside.

Frosted Vinyl

Frosted vinyl is a budget-friendly alternative to frosted or etched glass. It comes in a variety of textures and several distinct patterns. Its true versatility is realised when it is cut or printed with our large format equipment.

Also known as etch-film, it works well in areas where privacy is required, but maximum light is necessary. Health and safety laws require glass panels to have ‘vision strips’ at waist height to minimise accidental collisions. We use Etch-film for this purpose as it performs the task without being unnecessarily obtrusive. If change is required, we can remove and replace it without damaging the underlying glass.

Signbiz has applied thousands of window wraps for businesses countrywide. We’d love to explain the options available to you and help you decide which window signage is best for your project.
