Frequently Asked Questions

Will screen printing, embroidery or heat pressing last longer?2023-05-23T08:35:33+12:00

Screen printing generally provides greater durability and longevity compared to heat pressing. The ink used in screen printing tends to withstand multiple washes and maintain its quality over time. With proper care and attention, well-executed embroidery can last for many years but following the recommended care instructions for the embroidered item is crucial for its preservation.

Which fabric is best to use with each method?2023-05-23T08:36:12+12:00

Heat pressing is versatile and can work well on a variety of fabrics, including synthetic materials. Screen printing, however, is more commonly used on cotton and other natural fibers. Embroidering on synthetic fabrics requires consideration of fabric type, stabilization, needle/thread selection, and testing. It’s possible with proper techniques, but practice and experimentation are advised. Embroidery on natural fibers is advised.

Is heat pressing, embroidery or screen printing cheaper?2023-05-23T08:36:42+12:00

Heat pressing is ideal for small quantities or one-off items because it allows for quick customization. It involves lower setup costs since it doesn’t require screens or extensive equipment. Screen printing, on the other hand, becomes more cost-effective for larger quantities.
