Supplying print-ready artwork avoids delays and makes sure your job comes out exactly as intended. Here is what to check before sending files to us.
Supply files in PDF, format where possible. JPEG and PNG files are acceptable for some jobs but vector formats are preferred as they scale without losing quality. Make sure your document is set up at the correct finished size with at least 3mm of bleed on all edges. Bleed is the area of background colour or imagery that extends beyond the trim line so there are no white edges after cutting.
All text and fonts should be outlined or embedded in the file to avoid font substitution issues. Images within your artwork should be a minimum of 300dpi at final print size. Colours should be set to CMYK rather than RGB, as RGB is a screen colour mode and will shift when converted for print.

As a general guide, a standard run of 250 to 500 digitally printed business cards on quality card stock falls within an affordable range for most small businesses. The cost per card drops considerably as quantity increases, so ordering more upfront is usually better value if you have a stable design.
Premium finishes such as soft touch lamination, spot UV coating, foil, rounded corners or thick board stock will add to the cost but produce a noticeably better result. For businesses where the card is doing real work at networking events or client meetings, the upgrade in quality is usually worth it.
Double-sided printing is standard and adds little to the overall cost. If you need variable data printing such as individual names and titles for a team, this is also available.

For digitally printed products like business cards, flyers and letterheads, small runs are generally available and cost effective. Business cards can often be ordered in quantities as low as 50 to 100. Flyers and posters are similarly flexible with short run digital printing.
Products involving more complex setup such as branded packaging, typically have higher minimums because the preparation work involved needs to be spread across enough units to make the job viable.
Promotional items like pens and magnets also tend to have supplier minimums that vary by product. If you need a small quantity of something that typically requires a larger run, heat press or digital alternatives may be available depending on the item.
